Welcome to the Bird+theBeard!

Our unique, handcrafted paper goods range from literary wedding invitations to geeky greeting cards and beyond. 


Custom requests are very welcome! Some of our favorite items started out as custom requests. If one of our items has inspired you or if you have something in mind that you do not see in our shop, please contact us.

All of our stationery and invitations are printed, folded, bound, pasted, and/or assembled in our smoke-free, pet-free Pittsburgh home.


We offer free local delivery to downtown Pittsburgh, East End, and Monroeville. Please confirm location with us prior to completing your order and we'll email you the coupon code to waive the shipping charge.


Domestic Orders

All domestic orders ship via USPS First Class or Priority Mail. Tracking numbers are provided on all items shipping within the United States. Most of our items offer expedited shipping. Please contact us if you are interested in expedited shipping and do not see the option to upgrade as you are placing your order.

We are not responsible for items lost or damaged in the shipping process. Please contact us if you have a shipping issue and we will happily assist you in filing a claim with the United States Postal Service.


International Orders

International orders are shipped via USPS First Class mail. Tracking numbers are provided when available. Due to customs, international packages can take up to 30 days to arrive. If you have not received your order 30 days after the ship date reflected on Etsy, please contact us. Most of our listings offer expedited shipping on International orders, please contact us if you are interested in expedited shipping and do not see the option as you are placing your order.

We are not responsible for packages once they leave the United States, but we will happily assist you in filing an International claim with the United States Postal Service. More information on International claims can be found here: https://www.usps.com/ship/file-international-claims.htm 

Import Duties or Taxes on International Orders

Any import duties or taxes are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in our item pricing or shipping costs. If concerned, please check with your country’s customs office to determine what, if any, these additional costs may be prior to making your purchase. For your convenience, we have provided below, the value thresholds on import duties for the countries to which we most frequently ship. These thresholds are exclusive of VAT/GST, please check with your country's customs office for VAT/GST rates and regulations.

United Kingdom: Any order over £135 (including cost of goods, shipping, and insurance) is subject to an import duty. Further information can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty

Australia: Any order over AUD1,000 is subject to an import duty. Further information can be found at: http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page5549.asp

European Union Directive on Consumer Rights

European Union customers: In accordance with the European Union Directive on Consumer Rights, you have 14 days from the date which you receive your order to return the merchandise for any reason. This policy only applies to non-personalized greeting cards and stationery supplies. Custom and personalized goods are exempt from this policy. Please contact us for a withdrawal form if you wish to make a return. You are responsible to pay return shipping. Your order will be refunded within 14 days of receiving your returned merchandise. Please note, your 14 day return period starts on the date which the United States Postal service website shows your package as being delivered.


Payment

Payment is due at the time of purchase.

We accept credit cards in our online shop through Etsy Direct Checkout and PayPal, and we also invoice custom orders through Square. If you do not have a PayPal or Square account, you can still use your credit or debit card without signing up for an account.

PA customers will be charged 7% sales tax. 

Orders may not be cancelled once marked as shipped. Please note, most of our greeting cards and stationery supplies ship within 24 hours. 

Personalized orders and custom orders may not be cancelled once a proof has been approved. 


Shipping

We ship to the ship to address on file with Etsy. It is your responsibility to confirm that the ship to address is correct. We cannot make any changes to shipping or delivery information once your order is processed for shipping.

Etsy will automatically send you a shipping notification with tracking information (when available) once your order is processed for shipping. This notification will be sent to the email address you have on file with Etsy. 

Stock items (non-personalized greeting cards or stationery supplies) ship within 1-3 business days, usually within 24 hours.

Custom orders ship anywhere from 1-8 weeks, depending on the product, size of the order, and current turnaround times. See each individual listing for estimated ship time. Please contact us if you need your order sooner. We may be able to accommodate a Rush Order. 

Rush Orders are subject to a rush fee of $30.00 or 20% total cost of order, whichever is greater. 


Refunds and Exchanges

We want our customers to be completely satisfied with their purchases; please contact us if you are not happy.

If you would like to return a stock item (non-personalized greeting cards or stationery supplies) for any reason please contact us to make arrangements. The item(s) must be in resalable condition. The buyer pays return shipping and we will refund the purchase price of the item (less shipping fees) to the original form of payment once we receive the item.

Returns on custom and personalized items are on a case by case basis.

Custom and personalized orders may not be cancelled once a proof has been approved. 


Rush Orders

Our custom items take anywhere from 1-8 weeks to create, depending on the product, size of the order, and current turnaround times. Proof Approval

We are not responsible for any typographical errors or any missing information once a proof is approved. We try to catch any spelling or grammar mistakes, but the final responsibility falls on the customer. Once proofs are approved, your order will print as approved.

When initially working on your order, we are happy to make any necessary changes and adjustments. If you need to make a change to a custom or personalized order once a proof has been approved and printing has begun, any alterations will be subject to a reprint fee. The reprint fee is dependent on the product and how far we have progressed into the printing and/or assembly process. Custom and personalized orders may not be cancelled once a proof has been approved.
